Melissa Warburton Best Employment Immigration Attorney

Melissa Warburton is an accomplished immigration attorney with a national practice focused on federal litigation and complex immigration matters. Known for her strategic, no-nonsense approach, she helps clients overcome delays, denials, and agency overreach—often through federal court action under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). Clients turn to her when the stakes are high and the path forward isn’t clear.

Melissa began her legal career clerking in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas for the late Judge Jorge Solis.  After spending years in the private sector as a trial attorney, Melissa entered public service as Assistant Chief Counsel for ICE and later Associate Counsel at USCIS’s Texas Service Center. Melissa’s public service career spanned over a decade and gave her rare knowledge of both immigration adjudication and enforcement—experience she now uses to anticipate agency decisions and craft stronger cases.

Melissa has an expertise in employment-based immigration, including EB-1A (extraordinary ability), EB-1B (outstanding researchers/professors), EB-2 NIW, and PERM-based green cards. She advises corporate clients, researchers, entrepreneurs, athletes and skilled professionals on building persuasive petitions and navigating complex USCIS adjudications.

Melissa is licensed in Texas and authorized to practice federal immigration law throughout the United States. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the State Bar of Texas.

When not advocating for her clients, Melissa enjoys watching her alma mater Gonzaga University play in the NCCA basketball tournament and training for her next half marathon.
