April Padilla, Case Manager

April Padilla

April Padilla spent 28 years at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services before joining Whitaker & Warburton's case team.

She began her career as an Adjudications Officer, deciding employment-based petitions including EB-1A, EB-1B, and National Interest Waiver cases, along with H-1B, L, and E filings. She adjudicated thousands of petitions and came to know the criteria the way the officers applying them do.

In 2008 she moved to Service Center Operations headquarters, where she served as Branch Chief of the Threat Assessment Branch. That work took her into how the agency evaluates evidence for credibility and what draws a file additional scrutiny. She later completed a year-long detail to the United States Senate as a USCIS Policy Analyst for the Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship and Border Safety, conducting legal and legislative analysis on proposed immigration legislation.

At Whitaker & Warburton, April supports case development: evidence management, exhibit organization, drafting support, and client status communications. Clients working an active matter will often hear from her directly.
